The Department of Oncologic Minimally Invasive and Interventional Therapy is one of the first specialized clinical departments in China dedicated to minimally invasive interventional diagnosis and treatment. Established in 2013, the department has developed over a decade into a comprehensive discipline that includes an interventional outpatient clinic, interventional ward, interventional diagnosis and treatment, and an interventional laboratory, integrating various minimally invasive interventional treatment techniques. The department currently has 32 staff members, including 5 with senior titles, 1 doctoral supervisor, 3 PhDs, and 7 Masters.
• The department focuses on the fully minimally invasive interventional diagnosis and treatment of tumors and peripheral vascular diseases. The main interventional treatment methods include using interventional catheters, stents, embolic agents, radiofrequency/microwave ablation, and radioactive particle implantation under the guidance of DSA, CT, and ultrasound, through vascular or non-vascular routes to treat various benign and malignant diseases. It has established specialized advantages in tumor vascular embolization therapy, tumor ablation therapy, tumor radioactive particle implantation therapy, gynecological interventional therapy, and Transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS), providing individualized comprehensive minimally invasive interventional treatment for patients.
• The department has been recognized as a National Clinical Key Specialty; Xiamen Clinical Key Specialty; Xiamen Key Laboratory of Cellular Interventional Therapy and Interventional Materials; a member of the China Hemorrhage Center Alliance; a member of the Fujian Interventional Medicine Innovation Alliance; and a member of the Fujian Provincial Tumor Specialty Medical Consortium - Tumor and Vascular Minimally Invasive Interventional Therapy Alliance.
• The department has undertaken more than 10 national and provincial-level scientific research projects, published over 40 papers in the Science Citation Index (SCI) and domestic core journals, and obtained 1 invention patent.
